Rebel x Kite Pride

We’re a platform to amplify causes worth fighting for. By teaming up with KitePride, we’re channeling profits directly into Hope Center Israel, where survivors of sex trafficking are given the tools, training, and mentorship to rebuild their lives. We’ve always understood our role as twofold: a social business rooted in strong values, and a company that must remain financially stable so we can continually generate income for the nonprofits we support.

  • WHO IS KITE PRIDE

KitePride is a fashion social enterprise with a bold, eco-conscious mission. Since 2018, they’ve upcycled over 23,000 square meters of retired kites, parachutes, and sails into unique, one-of-a-kind bags. At the same time, they have created more than 55,000 hours of safe, fair work, providing vulnerable individuals, many overcoming sex trafficking and exploitation, with dignified employment and a chance to rebuild their lives. Every bag tells two stories: sustainability and second chances.

  • OUR MISSION

The profits from our bags go directly to Hope Center and its parent organization, Global Act – nonprofits dedicated to providing meaningful employment for survivors of the cycle of prostitution. Since there is no private owner profiting from the brand, and all proceeds are directed toward social causes, we’ve always seen ourselves wearing two hats: as a social business driven by strong values and, at the same time, as a business that needs to be financially stable and profitable to generate income for these nonprofits.

Meet the Founders

KitePride began with a simple but radical idea: people don’t need pity they need jobs.

That conviction became the life mission of Matthias and Tabea Oppliger, a husband-and-wife team who grew up in Papua New Guinea, where they learned early on that even small actions can create lasting change. After years of building their careers and raising three children in Switzerland, Tabea was inspired by an unforgettable conversation with a survivor of sex trafficking and realized that true freedom for victims of exploitation comes through stable, safe employment.

In 2014, the Oppligers moved their family to Tel Aviv and founded Hope Center Israel to walk alongside survivors of sex trafficking and prostitution. Out of that vision, KitePride was launched—an innovative fashion social enterprise that upcycles kites, sails, and parachutes into one-of-a-kind bags while creating safe jobs for survivors and marginalized individuals.
Today, their leadership continues to merge ecological sustainability with social impact, proving that when dignity meets opportunity, lives are transformed.

HOPE CENTER

Hope Center Israel exists to restore dignity, stability, and opportunity to survivors of sex trafficking. Every day, their team walks alongside those who have endured exploitation, providing the tools and support needed to break free from the cycle and step into new lives.

The journey begins with a three-month job-readiness training program that equips participants with practical workplace skills, personal development, and hands-on experience. But it doesn’t end there—because true transformation takes time. Each graduate receives two years of ongoing mentorship, professional guidance, and emotional support to ensure they don’t just find work, but build a sustainable future.
This combination of training, safe employment, and long-term community is what makes Hope Center unique.
